Good news! São Tomé e Príncipe has once again been certified as one of the most democratic and free countries in Africa. In the Freedomhouse Index, São Tomé e Príncipe achieved 84 out of a possible 100 points. This puts São Tomé e Príncipe ahead of the United States of America, Poland and South Africa and places it among Africa’s top three. São Tomé e Príncipe also ranks eleventh out of 54 African countries in the Mo Ibrahim Index for good governance
