São Tomé e Príncipe, the second smallest country in Africa, lies directly on the equator. Approximately 30% of the islands are national parks with tropical rainforests. The country has about 210,000 inhabitants, with about 90% living in the north-eastern area around the capital Cidade de São Tomé and only a few thousand on the island of Príncipe.
São Tomé e Príncipe’s main exports are coffee and cocoa, often from certified organic cultivation and of top international quality. The most important economic sector is tourism. São Tomé e Príncipe can be reached from Europe in about 6 hours from Lisbon several times a week by direct flight.

Nationale Judo-Meisterschaften in São Tomé e Príncipe.
Príncipe was buzzing with excitement on 15 July as the much-anticipated São Tomé and Príncipe National Judo Championships took place. Organised by the World Judo Federation of São Tomé and Príncipe, the championships brought together 51 young judoka.
48 years of Independence
On July 12, São Tomé e Príncipe celebrates its national holiday, Independence Day with much joy and lots of news. As for example more flights in planning and more diplomatic relationships.
